Presbyterian Homes completed the purchase of Wayzata Bay Center from the SLSP partnership that acquired the center four years ago. On Oct. 21, the Wayzata City Council confirmed the zoning for redevelopment of the center.

The final development of the Bay Center will include 255 Presbyterian senior housing units including independent living apartments and a memory care unit. One-hundred-fifty-five condominium units will be added as well as a limited service premium hotel with 100 rooms.

In addition, 27,000 square feet of office space will be part of the center as well as 130,000 square feet of retail stores and three to four restaurants.

The final plans for the redevelopment will be presented to the city council in March or April 2009 with groundbreaking for the retail, office and hotel block slated for the second quarter of 2009. The initial buildings will be completed in fall of 2010 with the project being completed in its entirety by spring of 2012.
